Obituary of Victor George Potter
After all our goodbyes, it is with sad hearts the family of Victor George Potter announce his passing on December 19, 2020 at the age of 90. Vic was a loving and supportive husband to Wendy of 64 years. He will be missed by his children, Allison (Greg), Richard (Jan) and Hilary (Glenn). Fun-loving grandad to: Paul, Mark (Janine), Rachel (Devin), David, Michael, Eden, Victoria and Jillian. Many favourite times were spent with his great-grandchildren: Jacob, Lincoln, Isabel, Shaun, Ethan and Harrison. Predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Rosa Potter; survived by sister Jean.
He takes with him great memories of fun times with family and friends in England, and enjoyed when they came to visit Canada. He was passionate about his many hobbies such as: genealogy, historical research, collecting stamps, Roman Coins and medals, where many elite awards were won. Painting birds and landscapes was one of his well-known talents, along with his enthusiastic ballroom dancing skills. For many years he worked at Foster Wheeler as a Draftsman/Estimator and also volunteered as a member of St. John’s Ambulance, where he taught first-aid.
A Celebration of Life will take place with family at a later date. If so desired, please donate to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society of Niagara. In keeping with Victor’s wishes cremation has taken place and funeral arrangements have been entrusted with SIMPLER TIMES CREMATION CENTRE 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines.
