Obituary of David Boese
BOESE, David
June 14, 1936 – June 14, 2021
Dear relatives, friends & acquaintances,
This is to inform you that I, David Boese, have made my 85th and last lap around the sun. I’ve gone off now to study the universe.
There isn't any doubt that I lived in the best of times in the history of humankind. There will be no visitation. I will be cremated and my remains will be buried privately at Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery in Niagara-on-the-Lake, which is about one mile from where I was born in 1936. It is a lovely cemetery and you can visit there anytime, as I will be there for a long, long time!
Dad passed away peacefully and on his own terms, surrounded by family and friends. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Patricia L. Boese, his granddaughters Emily Denis (Dan), Natalie Denis (Tanner), and his precious great-granddaughter Lake Margaret. David was the dear brother of Ellie Ruddle, John Boese, Telsie Boese (Peter), Barbara Ruel (Paul). Cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Margaret Boese and John Boese (Hilde), and his first wife Jacqueline.
David worked on the family farm and later Boese Foods Canning Factory and Leamington Pyramid Factory. Dad was an entrepreneur and had many business ventures. He will be remembered for having his face on his Daybo rental vehicles.
Dad will be remembered for his love of music, singing, and his sense of humour. He was always a dreamer and a forward-thinker until the end. David loved his City of St. Catharines and he was constantly advocating for equality. He was a proud member of the Rotary Club, the St. Catharines Barbershop and Jaycee’s. Dad’s passion was racing; he started with Soap-box Derby, and later moved onto Merrittville and other racetracks in Ontario and Quebec.
We want to express our sincere gratitude to the staff at Henley House for their great care and thoughtfulness.
Arrangements are entrusted to SIMPLER TIMES CREMATION CENTRE, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. If desired, memorial donations may be made to St. Catharines Community Care.
