George Sanford Duncan (Digger)

George Sanford Duncan, or ‘Digger’ as he was fondly known, passed peacefully in his sleep in his 83rd year. He was born in Owen Sound, the son of Helen and Gordon Duncan. He resided in Port Dalhousie most of his adult life, and worked for many years as a programmer/draftsman for the Port Weller Dry Docks. During his retirement years, he could be seen walking his dog ‘Jake’ frequently in the neighbourhoods of Port. If not walking his dog, he could often be found ‘trying his luck’ on the ponies. An extremely friendly and well-liked man, Digger will be greatly missed.

Digger is survived by his sister Pat Brown (Gaston), and many, many, nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by brothers Everett, Keith (Edna), Rocky (Millie), John (Ruby), Wayne, and sister Dorothy McGrath (Dick). Cremation has taken place. Due to Covid, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Henley House for their care and compassion over the past 5 years.
