Obituary of Claire Leonora Leng

LENG, Claire (née Manson)

 

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother Claire on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at the age of 86. She will be dearly missed by her children Chris (Lisa), Maria, Greg (Veena) and Patrick (Eliza) and their father John. Cherished Grammy L to Kristina, Ryan, Ravi, Maya, Igor, Misha, Mary and Noah. Sister to Paul (Margaret) Manson, Tony (the late Ann) Manson and the late Marie Manson.

 

At age 19, Claire took the Queen Mary from Canada to England where she met her future husband while they worked together at Harwell. Returning in 1958, she and her husband worked at Atomic Energy of Canada in Chalk River Ontario. Wherever she went, she sang solos in choirs and in 1970 she received a degree in music from Cañada College. Claire was the proud owner and operator of Brier House Bed and Breakfast on Brier Island, Nova Scotia for many years. She loved and adored her family and friends and remained active in their lives in any way she could.

 

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Claire’s Life will be held at a date to be announced in the summer. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
